MN v Derek Chauvin Trial Day 14 - Derek Chavuin Speaks-Choice to Testify, Motion Hearing

Fired Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, 44, stands trial in the alleged murder of George Floyd, 46. As seen on the footage, the defendant kneeled on the victim’s neck for minutes until after the man became unresponsive during an arrest over an alleged counterfeit $20 bill on May 25, 2020. Jurors must determine under the law if Floyd died because of Chauvin’s actions, or if it was really something else. The medical examiner noted that he also had arteriosclerotic and hypertensive heart disease, and also fentanyl, and evidence of recent meth use.

Both sides jockeyed over evidence amid jury selection. Judge Peter Cahill ruled jurors can hear evidence Chauvin once told another officer in a separate arrest to apply a Hobble restraint–a kind of a restraining belt used by law enforcement–in a “hog-tie” position although a woman allegedly did not put up much resistance. The state can also show evidence that the defendant knew how it was dangerous to kneel on the neck of the prone Floyd.

I knew he wasnt going to testify but honestly this guys life is going to be ruined either way. Either he goes to prison with other criminals that are going to hate him for what hes done and that hes an ex cop or he goes home and is going to basically be in prison also because people are not going to let this go. Hes not going to have a normal life ever.

How are they going to find carbon monoxide this long after he's been cold and dead it doesn't add up, sounds like something is messed up in denmark as the saying goes.

98 % blood oxygen saturation, surely that means he wasn't asphyciated?

Bring the Doctor before the Court in a Zoom meeting if you have to. The Defense is just butt-hurt that this evidence was tracked down and discovered because of his own witness's testimony and evidence

Any other murder trial defendant wouldn’t be allowed to move around the courtroom like he has been. I’ve seen him leave the defense table a couple times— I don’t think that would fly for any other murder defendant

He didn't die from carbon monoxide, he was at the front of the vehicle not the back.

Carbon monoxide does not lower your blood oxygen levels. It binds hemoglobin to prevent Oxygen from binding.

Maybe Chauvin was 140lbs when he was a rookie, not anymore.

If this guy gets him off, he would be a better barrister than Robert Kardashian.

So the fight for a mistrial has begun. The People have not met their burden of proof.

Sounds like it was added, sounds like tampering by the defense.

If his carboxylic hemoglobin level is ten to 13 percent! Then chauvin did not cause his death..it was the face in the tailpipe...then it's a question of who is at fault for putting his face in front of the tailpipe....not physical windpipe constriction
