The Great Controversy Chapter 5: John Wycliffe

This week Pastor Ted Wilson discusses chapter five of The Great Controversy, entitled “John Wycliffe,” about a man of profound influence who gave thousands direct access to God’s Word through The Wycliffe Bible. It was the first English translation of the Bible ever made and was not well received by Rome.

Though he wasn’t martyred, he was declared a heretic and excommunicated by Rome. Forty years after his death, Wycliffe was dug up, his body burned, and his ashes scattered in the river Swift. All this because he dared to speak the truth and provide the Word of God to people in their native tongue.

UNBENDING COURAGE and INTEGRITY, these are virtues especially needed today and into the future. Like Wycliffe and all of the Reformers, we must develop these if we don't already have them. Far too many of our Church leaders are straddling the fence on issues that should be CLEAR to us. We need to understand and accept the help given us in the Counsels of God's Messenger, Sis. White.MANY are reading WITHOUT understanding!

Wycliffe is an important reminder that we should draw all things into question that we practice as Christians and continuously be reforming. And also, wow, you sound just like Casey Kasem!

Wicliffe was a wonderful Christian❣️🙏 He was an amazing and courageous Christ-follower who lived and preached authentically to his Master❣️ He indeed was a heaven appointed messenger, a pre-reformer❣️

That made it easier for You to talk about climate change, like You don’t know what does that mean climate change? Which U knew that the solution for it is: to have everyone worship on Sunday to save the planet? I am aware that in the US there is a bad connotation with the word 'communism' but Wycliffe can be seen as a proto-communist because he wanted to change the law of ownership because all the children of God that are in a state of grace should inherit a part of the whole realm of God.
