Virtually every #LordOfTheDance fan has seen the legendary Strings of Fire performances from the 1996 and 1998 videos. But have you seen the 2009 Taiwan performance?
Starring Giada Costenaro Cunningham and Nico*letta Alby, this is an absolutely electric performance. Remember, this is a dance show; these two musicians have to come out onstage and light the place on fire with nothing more than their technical skill and their sheer force of personality.
If you know anything about "Princess" Giada, you know that's not a problem. Giada holds the record for a musician appearing in the most number of Lord of the Dance commercial video releases, and *might* hold the record for an Irish fiddler for having been seen by the most amount of people in live audiences. One look at Giada and you realize she has the same *something* that everyone else in Team Lord has: she was born to be onstage.
Simply put: you haven't lived until you've heard Irish fiddle music played by a fiery Italian woman. And this speaks to the truly international nature of this show; when Team Lord reassembles in a few weeks, it will be an #IrishDance show which counts amongst its ranks a British good guy, Hungarian bad guys, an Italian fiddler, a Cypriot tour manager, and dancers from countries as disparate as America and Belarus -- all joined together for a stadium tour on the other side of the world in Taiwan.
