How to add color Background to Text (Vegas Pro)

1. Add a text (Menu: Insert, Text)
2. Add a background (At Advanced, Background)
3. Reduce color area (Event Pan/Crop, Mask)

I have Vegas Movie Studio 16 Platinum and in following your steps, at 1:29 where you select Mask under Position, on my screen there is nothing under Position and when I click on Position, Mask does not appear. Nothing appears. How do I get the Mask option?
