Talk's Kevin O'Sullivan is joined by Conservative commentator Benedict Spence to discuss the agreement between junior doctors and the Labour government.

On this topic Kevin said "All Labour's done is open its wallet" and the "NHS is going to return to the dreadful money pit it always was.".

The pair also discussed the possibility of GP strikes in where GP's have said they will decrease the number of appointments as part of industrial action.

How is it if GP's are so badly paid that so many of them can afford to work part time.

If GP's walk out at least we will have the chance to see them rather than speak to them over the phone

Well, I for one think our junior doctors are worth every penny, without them you can say bye bye to the NHS

The price for paying junior Dr's more money is that NHS departments will need to make cuts, so who is going to suffer more so they get more money? US the patients. We always end up getting screwed.

Doctors get 22 per cent pay rise, police officers get 4.7, poor Doctors risking their lives on the streets.

How do some of you guys still make profit even with the downturn of the economy and ever increasing life standard...

Stop training doctors without a guaranteed return on investment for the NHS.

Oh… we can talk about this?

Can’t we cherry pick new doctors off one of the boats?

20% is not a little bit more money. On a doctor's salary it must be quite a lot. GPs earning £153k are now striking cos they want more money. This is ridiculous. Get real docs and just do some work.

Monkey see Monkey do. First junior doctors get their way , now Gps want more, never ending circle of greed, you wanted to become a doctor, just like I wanted to be a soldier, so purchase a family car, and stop trying to live above your means.

we can never privatise the NHS. we don't want to go to a system were people get into debt just for being ill!!!

You think this is bad; NHS are now considering providing the interview questions to candidates in advance of the interview. Reasons; equity, and reducing anxiety of attending an interview! Clown world 😂

I know you knock surgeries but where I live our surgery will always fit us in. They are innundated with the flow of immigrants who have to be seen over the patients who pay their taxes. I am not complaining about that but the junior doctors are long overdue a pay rise. The ungodly hours they have to work and fit in their study, training, and living, we really owe it to the workers of the NHS who work tirelessly with what equipment they have and shortage of staff. The teachers are another lot who need a pay rise with what the government expect them to do, the abuse both these sections get from the public. You are getting a good whack Kevin for just siitting and carping on about how hard done by you are. You dont have to struggle and work ungodly hours. I think they have been shoddily treated and we need them more than we need you kevin.
