BEST MOUNTAIN BIKE UPGRADE??? Five Ten Freerider Mountain Bike Shoe Review

What if I told you that the best mountain biking upgrade that you could make isn't made of carbon fiber, doesn't come in flashy colors and won't break the bank? If you haven't already, make sure to check out the Five Ten Freerider shoes (or other comparable mountain biking shoe)! The ability to have complete, comfortable control over your bike (which includes the ability to throw it away if need be) will increase your confidence and ultimately, your riding ability.

Check out the video and let me know what your thoughts are: What type, brand or style of shoe do you prefer when you ride? Why? Let me know in the comments below and as always, thanks for checking out my video!

Nothing beats the 5\10s I use the pro range, get them you'll never regret them, the freeriders are great for summer use I use the pro range for xc which are brilliant for powering down in fast time riding, it pays to get the best in shoes + pedals, I run Chester's, most of all is the ability to life the pedal just using one foot for stop start position thats how sticky they are!

Clipless petals are great for mountain biking imo. Helps me pull my bike up when bunny hoping or jumping. Nice to be able to pull you rear end up with your feet.

I've worn 5/10 flat and clipless for years, I got my first pair of Downhill shoes, 5/10 Hellcat Pro TLD, Clipless, yeah I paid up, they are a bit heavy, but they have a very sturdy toe box, an a very stiff sole, sure they aren't for walking, I didn't buy them for walking, they are so stiff they need the strap to hold your heal down when you do walk, when you ride the super stiff soles make the whole shoe a pedal, NO flex, WAY MORE power into the pedal stroke, a big plus is I have no more hot spots. Ride with your heals down, with the real deal Hellcat Pro's. I'll keep my old 5/10 Freeriders for when I need to go for a walk..

It is crazy that all sports need 100+ shoes and they all have different shoe ... life is hard, Nike is happy. I ordered my first Five Tens, I am a bit bitter I have Football, basketball, skating, cycling pair of shoes and it's a bit of a wast since all my regular shoes cost 30% of all of the sports shoes I got. Sports for adults are expensive...

Skate shoes. I wear a size 15 so biking specific shoes are very limited in my size.
