These videos have been helping me keep up my motivation to become an educator through my post-secondary learning adventures.
Student-centered learning is something that amazes me, especially since I began to really feel a passion for teaching while working as a Peer Assisted Study Session (PASS) leader. I was trained and provided materials in such a way that my sessions resembled student-centered learning in a way that I am just now beginning to appreciate.
What I am wondering about are the methods of assessment for student-centered learning; how to assess student achievements in a way that is both helpful and constructive for students and desirable by governing bodies.

When a classroom operates with student-centered instruction, students and instructors share the focus. Instead of listening to the teacher exclusively, students and teachers interact equally. Group work is encouraged, and students learn to collaborate and communicate with one another.

When students are interested in learning it is very easy. When you work in schools with low student engagement it becomes an issue.
