Bitcoin Tops $50,000 for First Time in Almost Two Weeks

Bitcoin rose above $50,000 for the first time in almost two weeks. Emily Graffeo reports on "Bloomberg Daybreak: Australia."

This is looking like it wants to push to 52-53k, but that’s ridiculously strong resistance right now. Doesn’t make sense to short right now at this level. Then again there doesn’t need to be a lot of shorts for price to go down. Most alt coins still well below their highs even though they are “pumping”. Seems more like an exit pump to me. Across the board you could argue 2-3 coins are actually showing strength, but that’s it. Once again, always look at the daily chart. That tiny green candle means absolutely nothing. Until you start taking out key levels with strength on high time frames, it’s still bearish. I would have liked to see continued strength today after a decent push yesterday but it hasn’t happened. A slow grind up is not how you attack resistance. It usually leads to break down. If you really wanna get technical, 54k is the key level on the daily that BTC needs to break and hold above. I’d rather wait for confirmation of that than try to get in 5% earlier. Merry Christmas everyone.
