notes: George recorded the song on his 1962 Rickenbacker 425. I should have mentioned that. I do these lessons - live to tape - and sometimes forget to explain every detail. Sorry 'bout that. My Gretsch reference should've said "George played it on his Gretsch when we first saw them on the Sullivan show..."

George Harrison was a genius and you're one of the only people on YouTube that spots it and explains it. Thank you sir for everything you do.

Harrison's simple little licks produce pure magic up against John's rhythms. My most favorite sounds on earth. Miss those guys. Great lesson here. Thanks.

MIke puts in the time and every vid I've seen of his is perfection. I can't believe or tolerate the negative comments here. I've been playing over 40 years and learned all these songs and they sounded GOOD. But, when I watch Mike, I woefully see that I had missed things here and there. Besides that, he has a deep love for this music as well as a perfect ear for it. I've never seen or heard better. You negative guys are just malcontents and don't have a clue . Wake up. Mike is the real I know it when I see it.

2023 I’m listening to this song and man - even the intro is powerful. That crash with kick and John’s power chords… there’s a reason the Beatles will live forever.

I was a teenager when The Beatles exploded across America. I always knew that they were special but it took me years to understand just how musically innovative and inventive they really were. Their music seemed simple but it was actually amazingly complex, as I learned as a guitar student. They well deserve the title of Greatest Rock and Roll Band of All Time.

How do I nominate this for VIDEO OF THE YEAR? 35k of us know that nobody can breakdown a Beatles piece the way Mike Pachelli does... but this is just perfect in every way: enough music history commentary to add interest; great lesson; well-paced; and fantastic 4- (sometimes 5) part cover... brilliant!

I like how John slides his voice seamlessly between notes almost like his voice is a fluid melting into the next pitch. He does that on other songs too and it sounds like he maybe hits some passing quartertones that give melodies some extra tension and texture.

My favorite parts of this song come from George's parts. I feel the real genius regarding the guitar playing came from George. He was a very young man playing at the level of a very seasoned guitar player. His instinct when it came to what a song needed was a step above most at that time.

God that was enjoyable Mike. Those Beatles .. I am forever in awe of what they gave to this world ... the brilliance, the creativity, the inventiveness, the artistry, the vision, the inspiration ...

I love how Mike showcases these songs—it shows the original artist’s talents as well as his own!!!

These chords are absurd for 1963. John doesn’t get enough credit as a guitar player

Lyrics were so simple and almost childlike but guitar work was years ahead of its time. Pure genius.

George always knew what to tastefully leave out while other players were cramming it in! Pure brilliance! To my mind a truly talented and one of the greatest composers and players of our times

the more i learn about them...the more i see WHY they were so great TOGETHER. Each one of them naturally knew HOW to use the rhythm...the essence of the song and ADD to it with UNDERSTATEMENT and creativity. John with his rhythm guitar. George with his lead guitar, Paul and his bass and yes--even Ringo--maybe ESPECIALLY Ringo and his unique drumming style that was the glue and the perfect man for the job. Simply remarkable--the young ages, the era of time (60's), their natural fit. Truly lightning and magic in a bottle called: The Beatles.

The Beatles are seriously something else. The ideas are out of this world. The 3 guitar players that came together at the same time ..1 in a trillion. The vocals of paul and especially john are incredible. . This guy is a Beatle seriously. He's all over them to the finest detail.

As a seasoned guitar player that's been baptized by The Beatles over the past couple of years, you've made the journey even more sweet. I love the history lessons and passion for the songs and music. Your attention to detail and obsession for the right notes has really helped me to appreciate the genius of John and George, especially. Thank you for teaching and inspiring us. Great work!

Please show us “Come Together” and “Dig A Pony” oh yeah and “Ballad Of John And Yoko”

I love that you show each part accurate to how they played it. It’s interesting and educational to see their style.

Hi Mike I’m a professional guitarist who kind of lost my way in the past ten years. I’ll leave it at that lol. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’ve helped me discover my love for music and my God given talent. Growing up in New York suburbia, a childhood friend had a pool table and a jukebox as well as a bar in his basement. (I think it was a mob hangout! Lol). When I hear “I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND” It takes me right back to the warm fuzzy feeling of a child hearing the Beatles for the first time. You have helped me to get that warm fuzzy feeling once again. Thank you thank you thank you!
