Testing weird beauty products, particularly makeup sponges! Do they really work? Or are these weird makeup products more marketing ploys than anything else? I've been collecting these unusual and strange looking sponges for a little while now and wanted to test them out. Some of them make sense but others are really far out there but I did keep an open mind and will 100% let you know if these weird makeup sponges are any good or NOT!

I feel like those silicone sponges would be really useful for serums and any expensive skin care products to prevent product absorbing into your hands.

I love how humble you are. You always go into trying new products with such an open mind. Many other youtubers/guru's always start out so negative testing things sometimes, but not you. You're such a breath of fresh air!

In the early 1980's and maybe even the 1970's the natural sea sponge was "the" makeup application tool. Everything old is new again, lol. Well done video.

Ahh, that sea sponge brings back memories of watching my mum and gran doing makeup in the 70s, and of my earliest foundation use in the 80s (and of back when you swiped & smoothed foundation instead of today's stipple & pounce).

Applicators are great but using my own fingers to apply foundation is FREE and effective . Can you do a foundation test between a beauty blender and good old fashioned fingertip application? In fact, how about doing a full face look using no tools and only your fingers. FUN! YOU MAKE MY FRIDAYS ZABRENA-THANKS GORGEOUS!

I have been using that diamond sponge for a while now. It was great in the beginning (so soft, especially if you use the big flat side of the diamond for your foundation on your cheeks) but it stains something awful.
I have purchased online at Ulta from NYX a black sponge that is my ride or die!! I love this thing! It's got a great flat edge and is a great sponge.
I recently purchased online from Walmart (when my NYX blender gave out) something I heard about but couldn't find in store. It's the purple blender from Flower Beauty. It just came in the mail and it's super soft, has one nice flat edge. It reminds me of L'Oreal's pink beauty blender.
I've tried some of the brushes that look like spoons. The best I've experienced so far is by PUR. Doesn't feel like the handle will break and the bristles are tightly packed. But honestly, I still like my cheap beauty blenders that cost $6-10 each, not $28 without coupons or Kohls cash.

The sea sponge is really good for cleaning your face, specially after you take your make up off, try it with that purpose 😊

I have a macaroon beauty blender from Beauty Muse Pro. It is a circle but the ridges on the side make excellent edges for those smaller areas. Surprisingly works very very well despite being shaped like a cookie.

I work at a Claire's and we sell beauty blender dupes as well as that 'feathered' makeup sponge... I had no idea how that was suppose to be used!! it just looked weird! I'll be the first to say I prefer the real techniques sponge over our dupes -hides from corporate- I do like our brushes though.
Always love your videos!!!

I have a silicone sponge by ulta, and I actually really like it. Usually I go over it with the real techniques beauty blender afterwards, especially around the eyes. I find the silicone sponge is good for mixing primers with liquid highlighter, or moisturizer with concealer - that kind of thing. It helps to keep my hands clean and not waist any product.

I've been super curious about the diamond sponge...I saw it at Ulta the other day and wasn't sure how that would work. Thanks for the demo! Also, I hope your sweet boy heals up fast.

The Evie blender is the company who attacked xxsparkage for giving them a bad review. Hope they dont come for you lol! They dont have very good ethics as a brand. They were really unprofessional and mean to her. Loved this video!

Great video as usual! Loved the demo on the grip less blenders! First time I've seen them anywhere!

I was wondering about the silicone sponges because they sounded more sanitary comparatively but now I know they aren't worth it! Thank you!

I tried to use a natural sponge after we visited Tarpon Sponge and I laughed at the results like you did. Cute idea, but not quite there! Glad you reviewed the Evie blender because there has been a lot of controversy over it.

I have a silicone sponge, insert style, and it works fairly well for me. I add foundation super lightly, swipe then pat when using, and the results aren't half bad.
