It's normal for a FIVE YEAR OLD to be a little chubby. Firstly, their proportions are still different, if course they'll look a little chunky, and secondly they are usually right before their first bigger growth spurt, so they need that extra fluff for energy.

My 5 year old sister is larger than a lot of kids her age and gets a lot of comments on her size. My grandparents got her an exercise mat last christmas saying "maybe this'll help her burn off some of that chub!" Safe to say that we won't be going back there this christmas, not just because of the blatant insults, but because there's a slight possibility me and my dad cussed them out.

Children are SUPPOSED to be a lil chubby, its called baby weight which is normally lost around 5-8 so he can fluff off. Once a child is on proper food consumption, it's not an issue. I get that child obesity is a thing but fat shaming a small child is NOT the answer
