Your video really shouldn't be downvoted so heavily. You had a very neutral take on the viability of both these cameras and it is incredibly refreshing. It is obvious you have had enough time to work with both and it comes off in the ease of your delivery. Super well done.

Nice done - to the point! I assume the C-fast cards are expensive, the BM Pocket's (raw) files are large, you need a couple of batteries for the BM during a shoot etc.... Having said that, taking the BM's price into consideration, it is one heck of a camera!! (I have a GH4, GH5S, Sony A7S and Sony A7 lll ... and overall for video in good to reasonable light the GH5S is a very good video camera).

GOT question. Please help. I currently own a GH4 and know that GH5s would be the perfect upgrade in that ecosystem. But I really love what the BMPCC 4k can do that both those cams cant unless they have Atomos Inferno with them. My question is, would both GH4 and GH5s give me the same functionality when paired with the inferno? Or does the GH5s do it far better than the GH4 in terms of integration with the inferno? Because I was thinking about buying the inferno and the BMPCC, so I can pair the inferno with my GH4 and also get the BMPCC goodness as well... what do u guys think about my "best of both worlds" approach? Or should I instead simply go for the GH5s or the BMPCC? Like please try to explain to me what I would be missing in each scenario?

Compare bmpcc4k to Fuji xt3- they're both renowned for their beautiful skin tones. So curios to see which one is better at skin tones

no auto focus on the BMPC is a deal breaker. And yes, you can shoot 48fps on the gh5s. I've seen a video here on YouTube of the side by side quality/fidelity of the gh5s vs the a black magic full frame Ursa and it hung with remarkably well. No one watching your film will stop it to zoom in the check for grain or banding. plus by the time YouTube or vimeo is done with it compression wise, it's indiscernible to 98% of John q public. the gh5s with the atomos ninja smokes the BMPC. period

i am still deciding between the gh5s a7iii and bmpcc4k. i am really leaning towards the bmpcc4k since i ll be doing mainly video work. I guess my main concern is with the reliability of this camera. What is the warranty that comes with this camera as I cannot find it on the Blackmagic website and do they offer any extended warranty programs? Spec and price wise I'm loving everything about this camera

Who can tell me the difference in dynamic range between GH5 and BMPCC ? I know that BMPCC has a 13 stops dynamic range but how much GH5 have ?

Thanks for all these videos you're making. Super informative. So are you saying that if you use noise reduction (Neat?) and sharpening on the Pocket 4K, you'll get similar/identical lowlight capability of the GH5s with the Pocket 4K? Everyone's been saying the sensors are identical but the GH5s is drastically better in lowlight to my eye.

Thank you but you didn’t mention that slow motion on BMPCC4K is so hard to get because 3x crop actually you have to work with 7.5mm lens to achieve what you can get with 30mm on super 35mm like a6500 or fuji xt3! That is almost impossible!

Hey, thanks !! I sell my GH5 for buying the BMPCC4K soon..What stockage did you recommand me? CFAST? Did you think CFAST will handle the new Blackmagic RAW codec that blackmagic will give soon to the camera? Thanks for all your video again. (and sorry for my bad english)

thanks for this. it seems like a fair and balanced assessment. i have a GH5S and am strongly of thinking of adding the Pocket 4K, but if i do, it will be to use them together very often, with one acting as the B camera to the other. however, from the footage you have posted (thank you again for all this), the two look significantly different, despite having the same sensor (i think). i would be most grateful if you would do a comparison in which you tried to make the two cameras look as identical as possible, probably largely done in resolve 15 (studio). would you consider doing that? (if not, i shall use some of your footage and try to do so myself, though i suspect that at this stage my colour grading and sharpening skills are not as good as yours!)

The reason the GH5s looks more videoish isn't V-Log.
V-Log on Varicams or even the EVA-1 looks fantastic. Reasons are lack of any internal sharpening and noise reduction as well as better dynamic range (comparable or slightly better thanPocket 4K RAW footage with HR)

guys u make me laugh, u spend lot of money in camera gears just to upload crap on youtube.
just get an action camera from china at 100$ and u will get same quality and even u will start to get subscribers.
nobody give a shit of what camera u have . if u dont have subs, it s a waste of money.
ur footage will be shaky anyway and the content will suck big time even with a professional camera.
i can tell u, it s not the camera that make the quality, it s the lens and the artist....
