Brilliant series idea. Definitely helps retail investors gain more insight into what certain investing strategies actually entail instead of blindly investing.

Thanks a lot for the great content. Loving this idea of backtesting many strategies:)
Two recommendations: (1) what would the results look like if you were to invest at an equal weight instead of at market cap weight?
(2) feedback on your website: I have a background in computer science yet I'm not sure how I can start writing my own scripts. I didn't recognize the language used. Maybe you could have a small tutorial or even better, a documentation webpage? Nevertheless it is a *very* powerful website, loving it.

I prefer to hear about undervalued companies, but appreciate the insight

Equal invested amounts would also be interesting. So you avoid the hypes a little bit.

You’re probably one of the more comprehensible channels I’ve found on YT, I’m just trying to wrap my head around value investing, I’m in a totally different field, is this what you do professionally or is it a hobby? Where have you learned so much, books, mentor? Thanks man!

Brands allows companies to charge more for the products or services they offer. It also allows companies to increase prices in inflationary times without affecting volume. Thus, over time, companies with ‘great’ brands can sustain moderate growth for the long run which therefore increases share holder value.

Hi Eric,

I've recently started watching your videos and was wondering how old you we're ?

All the more reason why a person's core portfolio, or at least a significant portion of it, should be in low cost index funds that covers small, medium, large, international companies. Like you said, "capitalism is brutal", and companies have a limited lifespan. We don't know exactly how long they will shine or even survive. The best method I can see is to buy individual companies around the index funds and try and create alpha using a portion of one's holdings. For some people that might be 25% of what they have and for others it might be 75%. To each his own.

I noticed you had SWBI on the thumbnail but did not mention it. Curious why you believe that is a value trap.

SP500 is heavily biased/weighted to largest companies like Apple and that might explain the result.
