I am Korean, and although my family cooks their own rice, we always buy Hetban (the instant rice shown in the video). You can make rice that tastes similar to rice cooked in a rice cooker in just 2 minutes in the microwave. Most people living alone or in dual-income families in Korea probably eat Haetbahn instead of cooking rice.

Go on and get that pre-cooked. Don’t let them pressure you that way. You don’t have time at work to wait on the rice cooker! Just put a really wet paper towel over the top of that bowl before you put it into the microwave and it works like magic! (Also works for refreshing leftover rice that you don’t plan to use for fried rice).

In Korea, Hetbahn sells a lot. It is eaten when people are lazy to cook. And it is rice that has been made with appropriate recipes by professional research, so it is guaranteed to taste. And it is a must when going camping or playing outside. 😂

Why is buying precooked rice not Asian? It's common in Korean and Japan and even China now. Some people just don't have time to cook and precooked rice is convenient
