Overview
The E-flite Decathlon RJG 1.2m is one of the most capable and best-handling models of the iconic aerobatic trainer ever! It's a replica of the Decathlon that RJ Gritter (RJG) flies in airshows across the United States and sports a classic yet modernized red, white, and blue trim scheme. It also features a variety of scale details including functional LED landing and navigation lights, wheel pants, and wing struts. The one-piece wing is easy to install and remove thanks to hands-free connections and thumbscrews, and the struts snap into/out of place without the need for any fasteners or tools – though it's already conveniently sized to be easy to store and transport without disassembly! Digital and metal-geared servos along with ball-link equipped linkages provide precise and reliable control for smooth sport to aggressive aerobatic flying. The 3S and 4S compatible power system features a 45-amp Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC, and the BNF® Basic version is equipped with an AR631 receiver to deliver real-time telemetry data along with AS3X® and optional-use SAFE® Select plus motor/thrust reversing. All these details and features combine to deliver a very convenient and extremely capable scale model that's a great choice for low-time and intermediate to experienced pilots!

"Are you even listening to me Robt ? " Bought choked on that one. Another great flyer in the hands of our brother Robt. And the best Blaz could on the camera. We miss some of the Robt conversation when far away. Those mic's worked great - even in the wind because of the rabbit fur. Thx for the wido and best to the families and my udder brothers across the wood. Russ NC/USA

I had bigger version of a Decathlon several years ago. They are very capable of stunts and as just found out they fly invented great. They like to fly fast and will stall in a slow tight turn. Great video as always guys. Keep up the amazing content.

Well it's quite a simple plane, this Decathlon, I mean the blank canopy must make it lighter, so you get long battery life and stunts at hi speed. I would check the struts most carefully post & pre flight, especially if you want to do some crazy aerobatics, that could be one weakness when the forces kick in at altitude and airspeed in an otherwise solid plane.
Great flying and filming, not easy with a blue/white plane against a blue/white sky.
Good discovery about smashing the wind/speed barrier, but you can probably get a very slow and sexi flight also from this versatile baby in calm conditions.
Inspired flying from Pilot Robert, you can TELL he's having fun when Capt Blaz gets all worried. That's the way it is with brothers!
Excellent. Big salute from London. 🌟👍

I just think it would be so cool to go around and fly a couple of my favorite rc planes on the YT famous flying fields like yours, BPRC's, Model AV8R, etc. What an amazing vacation that would be!
Thanks Pilot Robert & Capt Blaz 👍

Excellent take off, Robert! 😁Very nice slowly adding power and take her on the mains so that she doesn't break out to the left! 👍 (And what a singer you would be 😋)
This plane obviously asks for coordinated turns and heavy use of rudder - why not use it when you have it? 😂
Regarding Telemetry: I'm surprised that you don't have it on the NX8 - I even had it on the DX8e from the very beginning. Depends on the RX and the ESC. If it is smart capable, you should get it on the TX. On the RJG you even have an Avian lite that will provide you with per cell voltage, at least when you use a Spektrum smart Lipo. On my T-28 1.1 that I upgraded with a 45A avian lite to get thrust reverse, it is even mimicking per cell voltage by dividing the total voltage with the number of cells. Scroll to the right and you should definitely see the SmartESC output on screen. If it doesn't, go to Telemetry and let it scan for devices again. It is nice to know while in the air, if the timer can be disrespected, as finally - when you are easy on the throttle - you can fly longer. Best wishes from Germany!
