I’ve put Gryptalite on a couple of my boards (MIdlengths and longboards) I like it, grip is great barefoot or with boots. I’ve never noticed what you’ve experienced with wetsuits slipping. The only drawback I’ve found is it kinda chews up my inner thigh when when wearing spring suits or board shorts due the edge. Requires me to change my motion (that sitting to laying prone to paddle motion). On my last board I ordered it about a half inch narrower and this helped a lot.
Definitely like the grip for duckdive or grabbing the rail in the whitewater

Definitely agree with your summary. Griptalite is nice for cruzey boards in small clean conditions. When there is chop and unruly conditions it is hard to keep the board under you without slipping. I think the best solution is a front traction pad and add that little wax by the rail for hand grip. I just wish the Griptalite had some stick to it and it would be a game changer! Thanks for the reviewl

I've been using Hawaiin Hot Grip Wax Mat for a long time and I really like it. No slip when paddling.

Para mi lo mejor es el Wax, no hay nada que agarra mejor que el wax

Would it make a good base coat for wax?

Would you recommend it for a medium board? I live in the uk. And going through different temperature waxes is annoying. Or when your ready for cold water and the weather gets unpredictably warm is frustrating

I personally think that Cork is the Best. You can buy cork adhesives and treat them by water proof spray and that is the cheapest way that I have found. Also the best IMO because it does not hurt your knees or scuff your suit in summer. I wish surfboards makers would start paying attention to this and manufacture boards that do not need wax.

At the 5:03 mark, you mention wearing a wetsuit. How is the butt of your wetsuit? I have used waxless deck material such as the one you are reviewing (both from XM and from Versa). Both were great in that there is no wax to melt off in the car. Unfortunately, the decking material tore up my wetsuit butt. The cost of wetsuit repairs (butt patches) made me switch back to wax.

If wetsuits slip easily, is it slippery with wetsuit boots on? This could be a deciding factor, especially for people in colder climates with a one board quiver.
