My HTC one x did this too today. I've been reading about it on some forums and its happens to a lot of people. I just bent the sim card tray a little bit to where the sim card connects to the sensor a little better. But you can also but tape on the back of the sim card (one layer, or a couple) to help it contact the sensor better. This has been a known issue with several HTC model phones.

I have the same problem. Signals come on sometimes when i put some pressure onto the sim tray. Probably the case is that the sim doesn't get in contact with the chips inside.

Same problem.. went too At&t and they changed the sim card, and now it detects it..

anche il mio htc one x ha lo stesso problema.Quando tocco sul retro prende la linea e poi dopo un po sparisce...è un problema comune purtroppo su molti HTC....e non so cosa sia...

I had this same problem got it swapped out via HTC no issues. New phone working fine..

same here damn so annoying so not all of them are like this?
i was thinking it had to do with overheating cuz when i play games it gets hot then it cannot detect my sim

it worked for me to add some tape on the back of my sim card. just 2 layers
