Thanks. I have simplified it by replacing OR with < for Indian financial year. Here is the formula. =IF(MONTH(A2)<4, YEAR(A2)-1&"-"&YEAR(A2), YEAR(A2)&"-"&YEAR(A2)+1)

My organization's fiscal year runs July - June so I modified this and just used < instead of the OR function. =IF(MONTH(A2)<7, YEAR(A2)-1&"-"&YEAR(A2), YEAR(A2)&"-"&YEAR(A2)+1)

The formula is wrong as it is calculating month June for next financial year, example Date 8-jun-13 should be financial year 2012-2013 (July till June) but its calculating as 2013-2014
