Ludwig van Beethoven
Sonatina in G Major Anh. 5 Nr. 1

When talking about Beethoven, the revolutionary character of his music, opening the door for the romanticism, is most often the center of the talk. But we tend to forget that Beethoven was also a man of his time, and composed in what was then fashionable i.e. the galant style. Emotions are contained, structural symetry is a must, complexity (for instance heavy counterpoint) should be avoided. The sonatina in G Major attributed to Beethoven is composed in that style.
Tempo choices are made after the notation and early 19th century Metronome Marks read in Whole Beat.

Love it. And love the rubato on the bass line, lengthening the accentuated notes... It's really amazing! Great job!

It sounds a lot like mozart, regardless what tempo you play it at.

Beethoven wrote 32 Sonatas. So where then, does the 'Anh.' designation comre from? And exactly what do you mean by "attributed to" - by whom? This isn't fiery enough to be Beethoven, except unless these were childhood compositions or exercises.

Oh, and BTW, the performer completely SKIPPED measure 15. Trust me - I've played this piece. Appeared separately (not as a 2nd movement) in a one of my exercise books.
