My brother in law carries around an oz of gold everywhere he goes, if he loses it or gets stolen there goes his 1800.00 down the drain, for me I carry around two American silver eagles if they get lost or stolen is not a big loss since I have tons of it, it all depends if you're storing wealth or preserving wealth, I am not rich like my brother in law so I minimize any losses by only buying silver that I can one day barter with or trade for a home. Either way buying gold or silver is better than spending your money on useless things.

I have tried to make sense of the gold/silver ratio and I think that in our modern times its the measure of the fear of the wealthy(gold stackers) to the level of fear the sheeple(silver stackers). All of the historical price ratios, mining ratios and geological ratios call for a much lower gold/silver ratio.

This country is trillions in debt. Trillions in unfunded liabilities . Credit markets collapsing. And war. The hyperinflation .
The supply chain problems. These are factors that are impossible to factor in

Regarding 2:51, when Sir Issac Newton was the boss at the Royal Mint in London in 1717, he fixed the Silver to Gold Ratio at 15.5 troy ounces of silver was equivalent in value to one troy ounce of gold.

It's good to know and it differed during different events and maybe one day 20 years later metal dealers will remember gold-silver during this current period of uncertainty due to the pandemic, war etc.

I just got a guy who wants to pay me hundreds for each colorized silver coin I have. Star Trek, Star Wars, Disney and others. I’m not selling .

Hey Sal! You did a superb job on this video, from start to finish! I think the GSR is extremely important as a sort of compass or barometric reading, of the 2 metals, prices. Very, very interesting that throughout history, the GSR was always below 20, until manipulation began. I feel that a high GSR is an indicator of high levels of suppression in the silver market, and vice versa. I am confident that in the absence of silver suppression, the GSR would drop below 20 again. I am starting to doubt whether I will ever see this happen, in my lifetime, but I am betting that it will drop below 50 in the next few years. Not financial advice, just my thoughts on the subject. Again, very, very well done, Sal!

Does the gold silver ratio even matter ? Maybe if you are exchanging silver for gold but realistically most people just buy gold or they just buy silver.

The ratios are difficult. Because the technical industrial needs for silver metal makes the Ratio Hard to figure. The financial collapse also makes it. Difficult.
Your wealth is screwd in anything but hold and silver

Since silver is no longer used as money (it’s biggest use case in history) the demand for the metal has been crushed…it will take a very very long time, if ever, to get back down to a ratio of less than 40-1…I don’t think it will ever happen…I used to believe this but if you put into perspective that the biggest use case for silver was money used throughout the entire world for thousands of years and now it is not, I don’t think the ratios back then are relevant…we need to take that into consideration when using the gold to silver ratio

Hey Sal, I believe I’ve heard Keith Neumeyer say it comes out of the ground globally at an 8:1 ratio? Any thoughts on that? I recently sold successfully some Silver Eagles at about 55:1 ($35), on Craigslist, and bought Gold Maples with the proceeds, the buyers still got a discount from the higher premium online dealers on the Silver Eagles. I was - on USD value - about 90 to 1 Silver/Gold; now about 40/60 Silver-Gold in dollar terms; a lot less weight but less volume and increased portability

It is very interesting taking a look back at the ratio and the many factors that have influenced it over time. I believe we will see fluctuations in that ratio with CBDC coming

I like that west point mint eagle on display there. Do you have many of them? Is it more valuable?
