Panasonic Lumix FZ82 / FZ80 Zoom handheld test: Birds Extended zoom range (122x)

settings: Extra Optical Zoom (EZ): 122x, 3840 x 2160p: 30 fps

EDIT: 4K videos used in this. Due to my blunder the video composed from these was only 1080p, the actual clips are in 4K though.

The camera is harder to keep on subject at the extra optical zoom, which is understandable when you consider the distance. I recommend mostly keeping to the 20-1600mm range when shooting handheld video. In these videos I go beyond the 1600mm and you might notice that 1600mm point from the small stop that occurs when you go over it.

I also tested a manfrotto beefree live tripod and in the extended zoom range I think I will need my larger tripod to keep the head a little more stable if I want to shoot video on the maximum range.

Looks like it has excellent image quality! One question: Since he camera lack an articulating screen, do you know if it is possible to use an external HDMI monitor? I know some cameras will only send the HDMI signal while it is not recording, which makes an external monitor kind of useless for video recording.
