Looking at the latest video from Soteriology 101, entitled "Is the Gospel a work of the Spirit." Found here:

I'm assuming we are going to see Dr. Leighton Flowers' of @Soteriology101 position on soteriology evolve tonight to meet the current demands of the people. In his debate on John 6, he was unable to bring himself to say that conversion is a miraculous event. I can only assume that this broadcast is his attempt to approach this topic, so we're here to see if his position has changed. Perhaps he has become a Calvinist again.

It looks like he is responding to a video from Dr. James White from @AominOrg entitled "Saturday Night Dividing Line" Found here:

The idea that our capability to humble ourselves in attempt to reconcile with another person of our own accord is some kind of proof of our ability to do the same with God is, put bluntly, insane.

I'm on the same playing field, of the same intrinsic value, as other men. I can approach them on my own terms, or try to approach them on theirs. Flowers seems to be saying these facts prove that our interactions with God must be the same. That's a massive stretch at best. I'm not on equal ground with God that I can come to him on any terms apart from those He has provided to me. And I can't meet those terms because He's so far above me that it's impossible.

But even if Flowers were correct, there's a massive and obvious problem. I can humble myself all I want and a person can REJECT me. Even if I meet every requirement they give, they can STILL choose to send me away. My best efforts can be found wanting by a mere human judge. But, somehow, my humility and contrition can force God's hand? God doesn't even possess the same degree of freedom to find me wanting as another human being does?

"The gift of faith is not a gift like you open at Christmas, it's like rain from above." (Paraphrase) That's great Rogue!

It’s hysterical how badly Leighton wants to refute James and he simply just can’t. He has debated him twice and both times it was a massacre. Leighton must be a glutton for punishment. James lives in Leighton’s head rent free 😂🤣🤣

The analogesis is baffling. He loves to run to examples that have NOTHING to do with Scripture and do not accurately reflect them.
