Lego Transformers #13: TFONE Optimus Prime | Sea Bunny Productions
Показать описание
Transformers ONE is upon us and with it, the next new set of builds! Starting with Optimus Prime/Orion Pax! Hope you enjoy!
To preface this video, the figure has been made before the widespread release of the movie, so I apologize for any inaccuracies. I modeled the truck mode off of the studio series 112 figure and some screenshots, and I think it turned out exceptionally well. This is actually one of my simplest builds, as the transformation is not nearly as complex as some of my G1 builds. That being said, he is very solid, and satisfying to hold, and he is a proper red and blue cybertronian vehicle. I was first skeptical of the side pods that the shoulders become, but they have grown on me quite a bit and I’ve started to really like all the intricacies of this vehicle mode especially as it’s very stylized from the usual look. For details, He has a black windscreen, a gray grille, smooth and clean truck bed, along with some proper chunky and rounded side pods with smokestack flamethrower barrels.
And here we have Optimus in his robot mode, where I prefer him much more. I used the promotional photos of the yolopark models for reference. He is quite slender considering how chunky his vehicle mode is, and I’m really happy with the proportions even though the torso should be about a stud or two shorter, but due to transformation, that is not possible, nor does it bother me too much. For articulation, he has a head swivel and up and down movement, a full rotation at the elbow with an 80 degree outward bend. A less than 90 degree elbow bend, unless you pull out the bar, some up and down at the wrist, a waist swivel, universal hip joints, 90 degree knee bend, and ankle tilt with some toe and heel downwards movement. With this exceptional range of articulation, he can pretty much do any pose you want him to do. For accessories, he has his blue battle axe, which is a bit of a departure from the usual, but I’m open to the variety. I was unfortunately unable to include a matrix of leadership, as this scale is much too small to incorporate such a feature. All in all, I really am fond of this design and i think I captured prime’s likeness well enough that I’m quite proud of the product. If you made it this far, I will gift you with the knowledge that Megatron is next, with that, thanks for watching, see you in the next video
