These movies are actually the same movie. But "The Thread" is from the perspective of the victims. And "The Treat" is from the perspective of the killer. It's about a man named, Austin McKenzie, who experienced a traumatic event in his childhood. On his 11th birthday party, all his friends, and his entire family were murdered in cold blood in a drive by shooting. His mind completely broke. 20 years later, he manages to escape from prison, he went there after he went on a murder spree 3 years ago. In his mind, he sees himself as a hero, like how he saw his dad, who was a candy maker. He genuinely believes that he is spreading joy. The end of the movie shows him, tied up by Sheriff Edward Clayton, before his execution. However, in his mind, he relives his birthday, finally able to blow out his candle's....
