Should you take BCAAs to gain muscle and get bigger in the gym.
BCAA stands for branched-chain amino acids and includes three different amino acids valine, lysine, and isoleucine. Using BCAAs has been shown to provide benefits like increased muscle growth, decreased muscle fatigue, and reduced muscle sourness during exercise. But studies have shown that it doesn't make these benefits if you are already getting enough complete protein. A complete protein is a protein that contains all the essential amino acids in somewhat equal quantities. Foods that contain a complete protein are tofu, quinoa, protein powder, and foods from animals. So as long as you are getting enough complete protein in your diet which most people do supplement extra BCAAs does little to nothing to improve your gaining of muscle and performance in the gym.
