Asakusa, is a traditional-style downtown area of Tokyo, known to Japanese as a Shitamachi, with its nostalgic Edo period vibe. The main areas can be a bit touristy but there are many local hidden street food gems in the back streets, some in plain sight, but buried between the countless shops. It’s hard from the outside looking in to know what’s the real deal so I thought it’s time to share with you my recent heavyweight Asakusa food hitters. This is a Japan street food tour in the Tokyo Asakusa area and guide on where to go and how to get there. Check the links before to see the exact street food restaurant location. Enjoy this easy travel guide to Asakusa and all of its Japanese street food pleasures.

⚠️Caution⚠️ These places are popular for Japanes instagrammers; extremely clouded in the weekends. Especially the crepe shop at 3 pm will form a LONG que, so avoid that time. You will also miss some of the popular menues if you don't go there early, cause they run out fast. And like Paolo said, there are places specially designed for eating, so be careful not to eat and walk. There are also animal cafes at this area, so if you love shiba, cats, and owls, Asakusa is your spot😊

I usually watch your videos while I'm havin' food and it totally adds alot to the experience. Great work!! Lots of love 🎉

Hearing the people at the amusement park nearby gave the video a sense of the area being busy rather than dead.

I think it added to the video. 😊
