A few things you should know about St. Thomas airport ✈️

This airport is smaller so you have to walk to your plane. Make sure you’re getting on the right plane and walk up the steps. 

The most important thing you need to know is is you have to be 3 to 4 hours early from your departure.

You have to check in which could take a while. The you have to go through customs which made us wait 1 hour and 30 minutes. Customs just ask you questions like did you buy any jewelry because you might have to get tax on it they will ask you if you’re bringing in any food or plants that you’re not supposed to have. They will ask for a license sometimes they give you trouble getting back to where you’re from so to avoid that bring a passport with you if you don’t have a passport, bring a birth certificate. Then you have to go through TSA with your suitcase you have to lift up your suitcase twice and bring it to two separate locations. If you are older or can’t lift heavy I recommend packing light. They will not help you!!!! They will watch you tell you where to put your stuff but they will help you. Once you get your suitcase on the last conveyor belt, you go through TSA with your carry-on. 

The airport was very unorganized. They kept changing our gate number and kept calling the wrong sections to come up, which made us almost miss our flight. They had TVs as well that kept putting the wrong section so it could be very confusing. Just make sure you’re listening to the person that’s talking. Once you’re on your way to your airplane make sure you’re getting on the right airplane because there will be a couple of airplanes that are loading up at the same time. There was two Delta right next to each other and we almost got on the airplane, so just ask the people where the plane is going. 

The food is extremely expensive in any airport, but I found this airport very expensive so make sure you have a meal before you go to the airport for example peanut M&Ms were seven dollars.

We did have some trouble on our airplane. Our TVs did not work so always download some shows and TVs on your phone just in case your TV doesn’t work like me. We had really bad turbulence as well on our flight, which was pretty scary.
