[1970's(?) US reissue on RCA Victor 47-7588]

You've probably heard this oldie at a wedding. It's lively, jumpy, and a taste of the beginning of soul starting at the end of the 1950's. It's Shout by The Isley Brothers! On a TWO-SIDED 78!

No, it's not a period 78, but rather a jukebox/standard-groove reissue. Hey, it's from the same master, so what makes it that different from a 1959 78? I'm not sure where this exact issue came from. If someone could pinpoint that, it would be great. The original 78 can be obtained (if I recall) as a South African or Brazilian issue and is also double-sided. Maybe someday...

This record is recorded straight from my AT-LP120 and its built-in preamp, into a single-channel EQ, and then into my SoundBlaster ZXR sound card.
No editing, just raw audio heard as it should be.

Enjoy this classic on a reissued vinyl 78!

I saw a Canadian pressing for sale a few years back. In Canada, RCA Victor issued 78s up until 1960, with the last release being 20-7670. In the US, the last RCA Victor 78 was 20-7410.

That 78 rpm record is from the Rhino Jukebox 78 rpm classic 24 record set issued in the 1980's for older juke boxes that only played 78 rpm records...

Checked Discogs, and it could be a dubious issue. The biggest tip-off is that matrix number, the 'W' was for 45 RPM singles, while the 78 version would use a 'B' in that position.

But still an interesting discovery nonetheless!
