The Inland Northwest heatwave has come to an end as fire danger ramps up

Elevated fire danger is the main concern over the next 24 hours with Red Flag Warnings for Spokane and areas south going into effect on Thursday afternoon for dry and breezy conditions. Winds will be out of the southwest at 10-20 mph with gusts 30-35 mph.

We'll enjoy much cooler temperatures today under mostly sunny skies. Highs will top out around 80° for Spokane. We'll see highs in the 80s through the weekend and into early next week.
