The point is that even most of the middle class doesn't go to salons like those, they are usually visited by low wage working people who usually have to do hard physical labor and need that sort of heavy massages. Similarly for all the shops they visit, they have selected those that specially look bad, in an average locality also, there are much cleaner and better paan shops.

Plus with how many tourist spots that have opened in recent years there are easily many beautiful places to visit in India, but this just shows what the creater wants to present about India, those who don't know better would think that this was the whole country

The dude who was criticising India, I met him last year late December in a flight from New Delhi to London. He was sitting right beside me. We talked a little and I came to know that he is a YouTuber and came to India for travelling and making content. I asked about his experience while he was in India. That time he was really praising the country and said he loved India. He also said he would love to visit India again very time soon. I asked for his Youtube channel to see his vlogs. But I forgot about this soon and never got a chance to check out his channel. I am very surprised to discover him. Never thought I would discover him through some other video. Not only his discovery was shocking but also his hate towards India in his videos was shocking too. I wonder if this was just for views.

Only a handful of foreigners actually love India. One of them is Ivana who is Dutch but then settled in Bengaluru because she fell in love with this country. Same goes for Frenchy (Pierre) who travelled North, East and North East India on his bike which he rode from Paris.

I actually knew a German girl who came to India and exclusively filmed filth and dirt, even when we were in really pretty locations. I kid you not, she would go out of her way to *find* something dirty just to film it. When we confronted her about it, she was unapologetic, and said (and I quote), "... because I want to show the real India."

I've seen that Vlog... He was in Varanasi... that too in the outskirts... later he reaches somewhere near by area of the "Kashi Vishwanath Temple" (Main attraction of the city)…. there are very beautiful hotels with river front view... but he chose a 3rd class hotel... which was probably in the most dark ally of Varanasi !!

India has some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Gujrat to Arunachal, Andman to Lakshadweep.
Obviously not every foreign vloggers are like that but there are some A**holes out there who goes to other countries to just disrespect their culture and their economic situations.
Lots of areas in India are underdeveloped but that doesn't represent the entire India.Some people just choose to show that part to feel good about themselves.
We've serious sanitation and cleanliness problems but most of these trash free countries doesn't have a 1.5 billion people. It's not like we don't care about these things but most people in this country has much much bigger problems than a clean neighborhood, so this issue always gets ignored.
It will improve but it will take time.

India is a big place with a large population, yeah some part is still underdeveloped but a large section are in the developing phase and many parts are developed too.
It depends on what are you looking for?
The same goes for foreigners and Indians too.
Many come to See Poverty Porn and feel Superior, and Indians feel Inferior (mentally colonized) and do cringe things.
but not all foreigners are like that, and neither is all Indian.

About the head/scalp massage... it is actually a great way to get rid of your stress, headaches, etc., if done right. Just like with the street food, you need to know a friendly local or two to guide you to a place where they give good massages.
