The part about it affecting the bottom line is huge. I only got one person into League of Legends because the game was known to be so toxic, and that person ended up getting a bit dramatic, to the point I had to set rules to play with her. That being said, she also didn't spend anything on the game, and I stopped spending after negative experiences with her. I've seen the same happening in Pokemon GO with stalking/harassment, and no one in my immediate friend group gives the company that facilitated it, Niantic, another chance in their other games.
