Kar98 Sniper Rifle

Prior to World War Two the Mauser Manufacturing Company developed the Karabiner 98K. This rifle would become standard issue for the German Wehrmacht during the war. Because of its incredible accuracy, it would become a favourite for use by German Snipers. The Kar98 would be a Sniper Rifle used by Matthaus Hetzenauer, one of the most famous German Snipers of the war. In this video we look at the Kar98 and its uses during World War Two.

i read in the book snipers on the eastern front wirtten by sepp allereberger (who also was austrian and served in the same division as hetzenauer) that he preferred the g43 in close engagements where he would shoot multible russians in a few seconds that were running at him
for longer targets he would use the 98

I'm very suprised that the Soviets didnt kill or torture him considering how snipers of any side were treated when captured during that time.

i can confirm how deadly this rifle is as i use it alot as my go to sniper rifle in ww2 games. plus out of all the sniper rifles its the best looking one along with the lee-enfield

Even the K98 ZF is in the center: In the frame of second: 00:04, you can see a soldier carrying a G41.... muzzle downwards.
Not to be seen many times in original clips.

I have a k98 that has no emblems left on it it's obviously been captured. It's stamped dot 1941. Anybody know what it is

You can't teach Accuracy...you can improve it but you have to be born with IT

It was a fine rifle.but it wasn't a war weapon.it was a weakness as compared to the US grand

It had nothing to do with the rifles accuracy, overall it was an inaccurate rifle as its barrel wasn't floating like some battle rifles of the period, they took the 1 out of 1000 high preforming gun, the golden gun, to turn into a designated sniper.

Overall, k98k was outdated as soon as it came out.
