Yankee Springs/Middleville is where I grew up. I've hiked most of this area 😊

Most of Michigan was once the bottom of an ocean. A lot of our soil is very sandy, which makes for a lot of challenges with water management in order to keep the tread in good shape.

I'm curious if the sand on trail is natural to the area. There were ancient glacial lakes with sand ridges/dunes that may be responsible for the sand. For example: Erie Sand Barrens. Erie Sand Barrens is situated in the sandy beach ridges of glacial Lake Warren, a predecessor to modern Lake Erie.

You've got a little competition for those Michigan ads with Tim Allen, lol.

We should have a viewer reunion at the bridge on Labor Day!

I had a snowmobile pass me on the trail in the summertime. I met the guy later in the day at the bar. Apparently, his ex wife got the snowmobile in a divorce settlement and he wanted to take one last ride (of course, he was spiteful and just trashing it before delivery).
