Progetto Italia: Italian music from the 1930s and 1940s

This is the newest project of the Swing Swindlers - the renowned orchestra that plays and records music from the 1930s and 1940s.

This project is called Melodie di guerra - Melodies of the War. Even though the songs are mostly not associated with war or political issues, sometimes the painful subject still creeps into the lyrics. Nevertheless - these are the melodies that helped people survive difficult times and they deserve to be remembered, without any political connotations.

All songs performed by Mart Sander and The Swing Swindlers. Recorded in November 2014, in MusicWorks Studio, Tallinn, Estonia.

I love how the footage of male bodybuilders is dominated by images of women. That made it OK - wink, wink .... So sad that any effort by men, in areas of expression or personal growth, had to be legitimized by portraying it as a way of gaining the approval of women.

Great music. Interesting how 'J'Attendrai' was totally rewritten for Italian. Only the tune is recognizable.
