2020 10 09 Friday Evening Shift Change and SN8 - SpaceX Starship Boca Chica

Join Maria for a day in the life of this historic workforce. She starts her day just as the first shift is going home. Her day ends at 2AM after uploading the day's raw video clips for her producer to take over. More on this process in the Discord discussion board.

In this video you will see shift change. Where the thrust simulator was housed. Elevation / grading work. Storm tides. The familiar and always welcomed sunset and views around the compound.

While watching, remember that just two years ago there was nothing here. Today, hundreds of employees are working around the clock to make humanity multi-planetary. Very difficult to work in this environment, so maybe this is a good training ground for Mars?

Thanks for spending time with us recording this very nice video. I was amazed at the footage looking close upon the ocean at the entrance to the beach. The waves were really kicking up there. I wished my dad was alive to watch these videos with me. He worked construction all his life before and after WWII and I have seen old super 8 movies of him driving different construction vehicles and I know he would love to explain the different workings of them to me and the goings on at the worksites. Thanks "Maria". By the way; your voice was clear as a bell in this video and seemed to be just perfectly balanced volume-wise over the background sound and noises. Of course who wouldn't appreciate that island music fading in and out at the end of each of your videos. PS... Just a little more ocean please. 😎

We visited there a year ago. There has been so much more construction since then! Thanks for documenting this. We will be down there again this winter. Maybe we will go by there again.

My dad worked for the same construction company for 41 years as their senior crane operator, but I remember back in the early 70's, when things were slow for the crane, he would have to run the laydown machine (pavement), and a backhoe, and he and I call all the machinery by the same names as you.

Thank you again Maria. Wow, the changes you have seen. Its hard for me to see why they built so close to the water line. I can understand the relative remoteness, just not the elevation. Water management is bound to be an increasing issue going forward. You are amazing.

Maria, you need a telescopic remote camera mast for your pickup to get up over that fence. Not too expensive and I'm sure people would donate for it. Great work btw!
