Atmospheric Landscape Painting Quick Tips

Do you want to be able to feel the air in your painting? This quick video gives you several tips for how to approach painting a landscape in oil, and how to use color to create the sense of depth and the feeling of atmosphere increasing with distance.

I started directly on the canvas with paint with no preparatory sketch or drawing other than a ⅓ grid to help my composition. I used a photo from canva as a reference, but changed things in order to better suit the dimensions of the canvas. This painting was done on a 6” x 12” stretched canvas.
