People Are Strange - The Doors Guitar Tutorial

Today we are going to learn how to play "People Are Strange" by the Doors on the guitar. The song isn't hard to play, in fact it is quite easy to play the guitar too. The only issue is the timing of some of the chord change son the the off beat, or the &, and some of the vocal phrasing can be a little bit tricky. The chorus has some unusual changes in reference to timing. Having said that the melody is fairly simple and you once you learn how to play the song you can learn to sing it fairly easily as well.

Wow that sounds awesome on the guitar too as well as on the ukulele. I can now play it on the ukulele but just don't ask me to sing it. LOL Doing a great job Tyler on both. keep it up. I love them

I love the B7 bend in this classic track. I’ve been playing this on standard tuned Uke & Banjolele for a while😎👍. (Using the barred B7, rather than the ‘staggered B7’). That bend on the B7 is easier on the Uke because it doesn’t really matter how many strings get the bend (if you use the barred B7). After the bend I maintain the barred B7 and have a double pluck on G&A strings before thumb-picking down on the G (okay if you catch the C as well) and an up-pick with the index finger on the A (again, it’s fine to catch the E string on the way up) and then into the G chord section. Quirky songs are more fun 😜👍👏👏👏👏👏
