Zygotene:
Paring.
Formation of synaptonemal complex.
Called bivalent or tetrad

Pachytene:
Crossing over between non sister chromatid.
Exchange of genetic material.
Enzyme involved in crossing over is recombinase.

Diplotene:
Dissolution of synoptenomal complex except at cross over.
X shaped structure called chiasmata.

Zygotene = synapsis= pairing of homologous chromosomes., formation of synaptonemal complex

Pachytene = crossing over of non sister chromatids of homologous chromosomes., bivalent or tetrad more visible.
Diplotene = chiasmata appears, dissolution of synaptonemal complex.
Diakinesis = terminilisation of chiasmata

Zygotene : Pairing of two homologous chromosome with a protein called synaptonemal complex which appears as bivalent or tetrad.

Pachytene : exchange or crossing over of genetic material between the two non - sister chromatids occurs and it has enzyme recombinase which helps in recombination.

Diplotene : Formation of chiasmata occurs and it synaptonemal complex disappears.
