The gutter above the new window is to keep the rain water from dumping in the hinge, since it is not weather proof. water gets diverted to the sides.

The small piece giveaway sounds like a cool thing, if you don't think of all other possible uses for the big piece first (matching billboard sign for meets?). If you do go through with cutting it up, a metal shop may have a machine that could 'punch' out the pieces instead of using a grinder. Smoother edges and maybe less paint damage. New window came out great.

Walk-through is iooking good, despite the odd 'problem'. Still, this is a true project car and I'm glad to see it after so many 'car review' video's. There are those of us who like to see a car or truck being worked on and improved rather than a survey of vehicles in a large parking lot.
You can dismiss this as the ramblings of an 'old coot' (which I am) but I think you would benefit from approaching your tasks in a more structured way. Such as, removing one of the rear lights before shopping for replacements, to see what kind of mounting holes you have. No more buying stuff on spec'.

Mira Walkthrough door looks good. Those dings on it kinda suck tho especially for it being new. Definitely something one of those "paint-less dent repair" guys can fix. As for the tail lights, google "land rover defender 90 round tail lights".

Looks good but why couldn't the original panel be used, the thing attached to the roof is a rain guard otherwise it would have rain get in when the panel is open or at least that's what I'd think it was.. Waterleak stick some K-seal in the expansion tank for the coolant to be that colour it's not watered down its your expansion tank or radiator leaking. I'd still have checked the oil to makesure it's not like black n cream mayanoise . If it is the head gasket it can definitely be saved if caught before it's too late. Around 12/13 years ago at the time I had an 04 Renault Clio RS182 checked my dipstick it was definitely cream & Black same with the oil filler cap, I went online & the best is Steel seal & it's so good it's used on American Semis. Years ago it was £30 I put that in the water it fixed the Headgasket I had car another 2 years or so & well over 10000 miles. On the off chance it's your HG Nick buy a bottle of Steel seal it's bound to be much cheaper as it's American Nick.
