Natural Disaster in Italy, MAY 30, 2023: Severe Storm Strikes Lake Garda, Unleashing Devastating Hailstorm in Torbole.

In the evening, an intense thunderstorm descended upon the upper part of Lake Garda, accompanied by an extraordinary hailstorm. Torbole, a renowned tourist destination on the outskirts of Riva and bordering the province of Verona, bore the brunt of this natural calamity.

The storm swiftly transformed into a relentless hailstorm, persisting for an extended duration and leading to widespread flooding. The hailstones blanketed the town in a uniform layer of ice, akin to a sudden snowfall.

As a consequence, the Gardesana road became impassable, rendering travel virtually impossible. The streets of Torbole experienced the invasion of water and hail, exacerbating the situation for the town's many recent visitors. Thankfully, no injuries or security concerns have been reported thus far.

This violent tempest caused significant flooding, leaving Torbole in a state of desolation. In addition to the Gardesana, several other roads were inundated and rendered inaccessible by the ferocious storm.
