Only 69 of the 190 countries the game was sold in have access to PSN and using a VPN to bypass this is also against Sony's ToS and is grounds for being banned. This does no good for a single human being on the planet except for Sony suits trying to please shareholders

And that the waited for me to have over a hundred hours on it, feels like I've been trapped by Sony; and thats realy bad imo. They can F themselves.

Seen alot of people drawing similarities to Xbox games.
1. Xbox and PC share more than PS and PC.
2. Microsoft hasn't had a major security and data breech in ages let alone the 3 Sony has had in the last 5-10 years alone.
3. Most Xbox titles have a "Skip" button.

The TOS originally specified that PSN was NOT REQUIRED to play. So no Sony f'ed up completely.

The issue actually is that the game has been sold in countries that actually cannot play it after they start enforcing this. Also have been hearing reports that players from these countries did not even get the pop up when first starting the game about the psn account

No brownie points for undoing something that shouldn't have been done in the first place. AH CEO even admitted they knew this would've been mandatory 6 months ahead of launch. And should've been enforced day one if that's the case. They knew and kept hush about it until after the fact. Yeah, it's in an obscure place on the steam page and it only asked you once when logging into the game for the first time. So saying the devs didn't do anything wrong is bullshit. They knew, kept quiet until Sony came knocking. Then it blew up in the players faces. They did nothing to warn or protect their players

Unfortunately, Microsoft kinda can bake in Xbox into windows and truly, they have a masterful thing where, if you have a Microsoft account, than it can become an Xbox account. So it’s not even an hassle to set up, becuase anyone using windows, probably has a Microsoft account.

So news just came in... Sony delisted this game from Steam in the 100+ countries that don't support PSN.

So now those guys despite buying the game, can't play Helldivers 2 at all whether it's through PSN or Steam. Sony's greed & ego is so big they would rather kill a successful live service game & remove a good chunk of the playerbase rather than relax their draconian policies.

What a lot of people fail to realise it's that PSN account requirement was part of the game that actively prevented parts of the community from playing. So leaving a negative review over this part of the game is something a person who owns a game is entitled to do, even if he was compelled by sth. This is one of the cases where mass downvoting was done over game itself and not some stupid politics.

The reason this is BS is because Sony said it was optional and you wouldn't have to connect to a PSN account.

Also the Devs at Arrowhead said that requesting refunds and review bombing the game gives them more pull with Sony

this backlash over a weekend got Sony to rescind it. I think it's time to really rethink how we handle corporate greed. Cause we did a virtual protest and boycott for three days and made them back down. The players have the power.

PSN is not available in all countries the game was sold in & PSN requires you to log into your Playstation if you forgot the password and want to change it.
