Cool demo. Nice wheels choice. And yes the 1/16 drill bit is for the screw to go in. Also after tabs are cut. Don’t always need glue or tack on the axle to hold it down. Often the interior piece does a good job at holding the axle down.

Excellent way to do it...try using the 8mm small wheels to give it a lower stance top. Keep up the content

Something i learned was that once you drill with the 1/8, you can use a flat head screwdriver to bend the left over metal.

Also, make sure you know that that wheels fit first. Some Diecast models from Matchbox might be too “Skinny” and the wheels will stick out more. Some Hot Wheels like the Corvette C7 will have bigger wheels in the rear, making the fitment look off.
And some hot wheels like a Porsche GT3 RS will have a wider rear base, making the rear axel too short, but can be fixed by chipping away at the car’s plastic base. A metal base might be hard tho

You can just pour the nail polish remover directly to the back of the card with generous amount of it, I always do it and it never fails nor makes sticked card on blister

Soldering gun on the rivet.
Plastic eventually heats up and pops off the rivit.
Then it pops back on after a little shaving around the plastic hole.
Almost undetectable if you take your time.

I leared with my first wheel awap on a miata hotwheel that i can just pop it off without breaking those tabs, i just bashed the plastic part of a screwdriver to get the custom rim in.
