My OG80 Comes in tomorrow and I can’t wait! I’ve always wanted to have a keyboard with good stabs out of the box and this will make a great gift to myself haha

The combination of Linear switches and Tactile switches at the stabilizers is my all time favorite one :D.

These are dope and a very good alternative to the Keychron keyboards. Going to give them a look :) Thanks for sharing brother.

Have you tried building your own keyboard? I have never done it but i'm interested and it seems like a fun experience

What can be the best Mac Pro style keyboard in white with a Cherry Brown or similar featuring Mac spacific special keys such as Fn & media keys w/ display control? I find myself loving my gaming Ducky One 2 Mini but it doesn't wake up in sleep or RGB locks & I still have to keep my Apple Magic Magic Keyboard near by for those Mac functions.

Why are you prefer this over the L80, that you have been using a lot?

Greats videos thanks you!

I’m still using the Apple wireless keyboard since 2010, the one with AA batteries. It feels exactly like the keyboard on the white plastic unibody Macbook, my first Mac :) I simply love how those keys feels. I would like to “upgrade” to the latest rechargeable ones but somehow they feel different to me and I simply don’t like them. Maybe it’s the travel distance or the response I don’t know. I have used many of them at work and I always end up bringing my wireless keyboard from home to the office. I even prefer the 2nd gen butterfly KB. I dread the day my wireless dies and I have to replace it because Apple doesn’t sell them anymore.

I grew up using IBM keyboards in the 80s so I thought that switching to mechanical for me would feel like “coming home”. But the first one I tried, a Logitech with Romer-G tactile (brown) switches, i didn’t like it at all. Just resting my fingers on the keys would activate a keypress and I was typing unwanted characters all the time. I’m so used to the activation force on chiclet keys which is around 70-75g. I can rest my fingers comfortably on those without accidentally triggering a key press. I also didn’t like that tactile keys have no audio feedback when a keypress is registered. To compensate for the lower actuation force I tried to “lighten” my touch on the keys but then some key presses would go missing when I thought I had pressed hard enough to register but it didn’t. This seriously slowed down my typing as I had to constantly backspace to correct missing keystrokes. Not to mention some unwanted extra keystrokes because adjacent keys got triggered by the side of my finger accidentally making contact because of my innaccuracy. The chiclet keys are more forgiving because of their low profile and high activation force an inaccurate typist is unlikely to trigger unwanted keystrokes.

I haven’t given up on mechanical KBs yet. I’m determined to find one I can vibe with but it’s a costly endeavor which will take some time. I’m attracted to the OG80 but not sure what switch to go with yet. Also want to try something low-profile like the G915TKL. Just worried about buying one with clicky switches coz if I don’t like it it will also be hard to resell coz no one likes clicky switches! Anyway sorry for the long story. Thanks for sharing your kb journey with us i love hearing your opinions.
