People often comment on my style & it's 90% thrifted but I do what you mentioned, ignore current styles & wear what Is love.

Y’all ever wonder if your thrift finds are actually valuable? Twice literally tells you the price from eBay & other stores. Game changer!

I live in the U.S. and for many years I have bought nothing but thrift store and garage sale clothes ( except under clothing and socks) and a lot of household items. I prefer the church thrift stores I haven't been in Goodwill since a year ago November I noticed that a lot of what they had looked like Dollar Tree stuff.

Great ideas, thanks Jane 👍 I've been struggling to find anything suitable in my local charity shops so I'll definitely be giving these a look. I think that Oxfam have an online store too where they have some designer/label items but I found them quite pricey.

my daughter came home from school and made me watch stacey dooley fashions dirty secrets, What an eyeopener. I always now take my old clothes to either TK maxx or H&M.

I love this video Jane. All great ideas. I'm in the U.S. and we waste so much. I have a hard time finding second hand tops and pants that will fit me because I'm plus size. I need to try on most things but I have ordered sweaters from Mercari. A few years ago I went to a smaller wardrobe. If I have to buy new clothing I buy brands that are made in the U.S. and that I know dont support sweat shops. I try to take good care so they last a long time. I'm learning what brands fit me and am working towards more second hand items. It's rewarding to reuse and not support fast fashion. I admire how you consider the environment in what you do.
ETA- Do you have buy nothing groups on Facebook in the U.K.? I donate clothing (and other items) directly to others on my local group. I can also ask for items Im looking for before buying them.

Hi Jane, I have only worn second hand clothing for many, many years now. My mum actually has been a true volunteer at the Australian Red Cross for around 20 years and I'll go into her store to visit her and buy lots of their second hand clothes. Modern Slavery is not just in fast fashion, I have seen some terrible documentaries on high end fashion and how they source their materials and how they treat staff. Are you kidding me, you are 58 (I had to keep rewinding because I thought I'd heard you incorrectly) Jane you look absolutely amazing for your age. How do you keep so young looking if you don't mind me asking?

I am a firm believer of op shop/thrift store shopping after volunteering in a second hand store for over 20 years, and it also made me realise that material possessions are nothing and we live in a throwaway society.
