Lived in Basel, Switzerland for a couple of years and was blown away by the sheer quality and volume of impeccable art at this event. Hoped to visit Miami this year (2022), but didn’t make it (ATL instead).😢 2023? Can’t wait!

Esta enfocado como un evento social y en cuánto los coleccionistas pueden obtener que el arte y las obras en si mismas. El arte contemporáneo hace tiempo que ha dejado de deslumbrar al público, salvo excepciones

Lots of traffic in Miami that week. Every street was gridlocked with bumper to bumper SUVs. Lots of air traffic at Mia and Opa locka. Seems everyone forgot about climate change.. 🤔

This year was my 4th visit to art Basel. I thought this year was the most under whelming yet. I really didn't find much of interest.

"Black Square" by Malevich put an end to the image of reality. The radical gesture was to reject all culture in principle. It first appeared in the opera "Victory over the Sun" in 1913, where, according to the plot, an aviator flies to the sky and wraps the sun in a dirty, dusty blanket. The sun in this opera is a symbol of traditional culture and a black square appears on the back of the stage. In 1914 the war begins. According to historians, the spirit of war was simply in the air. In 1915, the black square was presented at the 0/10 exhibition and laid the foundation for all modern art. After the war, Victor Vasarelli, inspired by the square, developed a new style of Opt-art in art, on the basis of which all computer graphics were developed. The world is on the verge of discovering a quantum computer and light plays the main role here, so victory over black ... is inevitable //youtu.be/ALW8-tclRHk

I've seen more artistic merit in a Mario game than in much of what Art Basel offers. Much of modern art is a disgrace and fails to inspire, like the art of our ancestors.

Remember the banana taped to the wall and be called as art? Sold for over 100, 000$. yeah that was at this art festival….just a glorified money laundry event.

What a bunch of BS to sell painted canvas as if it's worth all that money that they're charging. Just a bunch of garbage and a scam
