The project initially started as a Roblox game called DeadZone, but after Nelson Sexton's account got hacked, he decided to make his own game from scratch. That game achieved much better success than its predecessor, and it only seems to be better. How does this happen? Well, watch the video and you'll find out!

Nelson's best decision was taking his game to steam, but sadly nothing good lasts forever. Despite the community's best efforts the game's player count has been slowly whittling away. I think the main reason for this is because Nelson Sexton decided to stop creating full updates for the game, he has instead enlisted the community to make the updates for him. I personally love the curated updates, however they can definitely be hit or miss. I used to think this game had the potential to be as big as other huge survival games. However, I think the reality is that Unturned is a game that comes from a bygone era. Unturned comes from an era where zombie survival games were massively popular, a trend that has come and passed. I also think Unturned generally speaking is too hard to get into for the average player, things in Unturned aren't really straight forward and the Vanilla game is pretty ganky. Curated Map developers have made an effort to streamline the survival experience and I think they've done an incredible job. However, they did that job a little too late. The game does retain a cult-like following, and I think that's enough for Nelson.

Just to clarify. Neither Roblox Studio or Unity are programming languages. As you correctly stated Roblox Studio uses lua as it's programming language and Unity supports a wide scale of programming languages.

Unturned player count is botted the actual amount is about 3 to 5k the games really dead its bearly getting updates nelson doesnt give a fuck an neither do server owners the games just dead

This is why it's better making slop on Roblox than something creative and unique. On Roblox creativity is not valued and 90% of the games are just repetitive slop that is made to cash off of it. The developer of Unturned is so right about what happened to him on Roblox, and what he did was and is the best choice.

Old Unturned player that used to create hacks and trainers for Unturned here, this is honest criticism about your video, you immediately talked about how Unturned has multiple modes and maps after its transition to Roblox but you purely forgot the stage it went though from Unturned 1.0 > Early Access 2.0 > Early Access 3.0 > Official 3.0. There were alot of tweaks and problems with the game from before and the community was small since it had its niche like how DayZ started but now Unturned its just a mismash of so many custom servers that its difficult to have fun anymore especially with the map problems. Its been also missing alot of big updates like it used to. I apologize if my comment seems negative but I really felt for the game back then.

i was playing unturned when it just came into beta, it was great to play, although, i was playing a version that didnt have trees and i wasnt aware there were other versions
