Samsun'un tarih kokan bölgelerinden biri; Saathane Meydanı'ndan (4K) yüksek kalitede rengarenk görüntüler. Tahta çıkışının yirmi beşinci yıldönümü nedeniyle Sultan Abdülhamit valilere gönderdiği talimatnamede her yere saat kuleleri yapılmasını emreder. Bu nedenle 1886 yılında Samsun İskele Meydanı'nda bir saat kulesi yapılır.Abdülhamit tarafından Belçika asıllı Fransız bir mühendise yaptırılan saat kulesi, bulunduğu meydana da adını vermiştir. Önceleri bu meydanın adı Trabzon Vilayet Salnameleri'nde İskele Caddesi ya da Meyve Pazarı olarak geçmekteydi. Saat Kulesi'nin zamanı göstermesi yanında yangın ve gözetleme kulesi gibi işlevleri de vardır.

Due to the twenty-fifth anniversary of his accession to the throne, Sultan Abdülhamit ordered the construction of clock towers everywhere in the instruction he sent to the governors. For this reason, a clock tower was built in Samsun Pier Square in 1886. The clock tower, which was built by Abdulhamit by a Belgian-French engineer, gave its name to the square where it is located. Previously, the name of this square was referred to as İskele Street or Fruit Market in the Trabzon Provincial Yearbooks. In addition to showing the time, the Clock Tower also has functions such as fire and watchtower.
