Maybe it’s not just those taking the opioids that are addicted—what if doctors are addicted to prescribing them? That’s the question orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jay DeMarco poses on his quest to break the cycle of opioid addiction from start to finish. With new, holistic approaches to post-surgery pain management, Dr. DeMarco is convinced there are better techniques that should be explored.

No. You said that it's about the patient, not the pain. There's a very few people with that problem, "turning the light on" as you said. Why do you punish everyone, how many people do you treat $40, 000? Why would you punish 39, 999 people for that one.
You going to pay for the gas and time for somebody to commute an hour and a half? You're stuck in the cities not in the rural community. Ice therapy is not enough. You don't listen to people when they tell you they're in pain, you are so stuck that ice therapy is going to work. It doesn't work. Everything else is going to work we don't need opiates is a LIE! You're stuck. He recovered in massive amounts of pain. You need to go talk to someone outside of the hospital, EMS. Your spouting off lies! I would like to know what the statistics are of people that get hooked on drugs from trauma. It's very miniscule. You do not give people enough pain relief, you say you do, but you're not in the room with them while they're screaming in pain. You're not with them, you run away. You run away.

Someone invent a damn medication that helps with pain and is safe. But we can’t limit prescribing for pain because we fear addiction. Back in the day they kept people in hospitals longer so pain can be managed there!

You don't heal disease with a prescription pad, you treat symptoms with a prescription pad. And you don't have the knowledge to treat the source.

It would be nice if benefits covered PT
Better than meds…meds are covered
I pay out of pocket for acupuncture, PT, etc

That’s something that must change too
