The World Economic Forum (WEF) plays a significant role in guiding international developments in the interests of the business community. They invite the most powerful people in the world to an annual conference in Davos, Switzerland, to discuss their dreams of the future. These are dreams where the powerful stay powerful, and the underclasses continue to toil and suffer.

Even when they invite a dissenting voice such as climate activist Greta Thunberg, or historian Rutger Bregman, their criticisms are heavily publicized without changing the core of WEF's mission — to solidify corporate control over the governments' of the world.

Really really appreciate this deep dive into the WEF. I knew it was bad given the people and interests involved, but the criticism seemed to only be coming from the right wing (at least here in NA) so it made me ignore it. Whitney is awesome as always...I just wish there wasn't a 'soundtrack' accompanying her every word. It is annoying to me, but more importantly, why is it necessary to begin with? I have the attention span of a labrador puppy, but am perfectly able to listen to anything interesting for any length of time. It only gets dicey when my thought stream is constantly broken up by, say, noise. Thank you!

The Forum of Young Global Leaders (YGL) is a multistakeholder community (30 to 40 years old) of "exceptional" young leaders who share a commitment to shaping the global future. However, 2011 founded, Global Shapers Community should not be ignored. The Global Shapers Community is a global network of local communities (“hubs”) of young people (20 to 30 years old) who are "exceptional" in their potential, achievements and drive to make a contribution to their communities. Hubs are based in each major city around the world. There are currently over 450 hubs established globally.
