If a stock dips it can still be overvalued. You won’t beat the market with this strategy. You might as well match the market and just buy VTI.
Also as an owner you’re being taxed on your dividends twice.

I got FB and Goog too and recently I picked up Lowes, they were IMO better priced than HD although I do agree with you that HD is probably the better company of the two.
